Light isa material

We build installations for rooms with the lights off. Sixty to two hundred watts of controlled colour, suspended, and nothing else in the room at all.

Six pieces

Every one is built to be seen in a blacked-out room from about four metres. Photographs of them are worthless; we send you a room instead.

Cold Star

Ninety borosilicate spheres on a single armature, lit from one point inside.

2024 — 1.8m — 140W

Anther

A slow bloom that takes nine minutes to open and forty seconds to collapse.

2025 — 2.4m — 200W

Green Room

Built for a corridor. Reads as a solid volume of colour until you walk into it.

2023 — 6m — 90W

Kiln

Runs hot enough to feel from a metre away. The only piece with a fence.

2025 — 1.2m — 190W

Split

One source, two prisms, and a gap that separates a white beam into its edges.

2024 — 3m — 60W

Permanent

Installed in the stairwell at 18th and Wyandotte. Free, always on, never announced.

2022 — 11m — 300W

A photograph of a light piece is a photograph of a camera failing.

Hire

Four of the six travel. They need a dark room, a 20-amp circuit, and a rigging point rated to 60kg. We come with them; they do not ship alone.
