A pair of blue john urns on ormolu bases
Derbyshire, late eighteenth century. Bought at auction in 1974 and not moved from the hall table since.
Thirty-two dining chairs
Carved giltwood in the Louis XVI manner, upholstered in blue silk velvet. The table they belong to seats fourteen.
A painted ceiling, in eleven sections
Canvas, allegorical, removed intact from the first-floor landing in 2024 under conservation supervision. A hanging plan accompanies.
Approximately four hundred candle sconces
Brass and silver plate, mixed patterns, a number still in original tissue. Sold as found, in seventeen crates.
An unopened crate
Stencilled Genoa, 1968. The consignors have declined to open it and it is offered exactly as it stands. Weight 41kg.
A rock crystal chandelier, twenty-four lights
Approximately four thousand drops. Two people and the better part of a week to rehang.
The marble floor of the salon
Sienna, statuary and portoro, laid 1902 as a compass rose. Lifted, numbered, and palletised. Plan supplied.

One per year, complete, in the original slipcases. Almost every page is blank.

The tester lined with a painted sky. Dismantled and crated; all original fixings present and labelled.

The house
Ferrand was bought in 1963 and nothing left it after that date. There are no gaps on the walls, no records of a sale, and no correspondence with any dealer about disposing of anything.
The executors instructed us to offer the contents whole rather than break them across specialist sales. It is the reason the estimates on some lots are wide, and it is the reason lot 455 is being sold sealed.
She bought a thing whenever a room felt unfinished, and no room was ever finished.
